Hi passmicordu,
the Panasonic Viera TC-L26X1 TV got two HDMI inputs, so it should be compatible with every blu-ray player using HDMI (should match all existing Players). It is possible to operate the Samsung BD-P1590 with the Panasonic TC-L26X1.

But I think you are talking about the build in Viera Link "remote" capabilty which comes with the Panasonic Viera TC-L26X1 TV. In this point I dont think the Viera Link feature supports the Samsung blu-ray player. As I know it is only for Viera Link compatible devices from Panasonic.

I need to know know if the Samsung BD-P1590 bluu ray player is compatible with Panasonic Viera HD TVs? How about buying this blueray player as a Birthdaycomplimentary gift for my friend, but I want to be aware that it will be functioning with the Panasonic VIERA X1 Series TC-L26X1 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTVTV that already in house. Looking forward to get some experienced advise
